Earth tones signify Justin’s dedication to his roots & community

The Wayvee by Justin Henry will be available November 4, 2021

Montreal QC. (Oct. 28, 2021) – Vans’ latest silhouette, the Wayvee, is built from the ground up with input from skateboarders like Justin Henry. The Wayvee by Justin Henry takes cues from deep brown and black earth tones as a nod to his Columbus, Ohio roots, skating weather-warped ramps and learning the value of working hard and making every try count. Just like Justin’s clean, streamlined style, the Wayvee pushes the boundaries of performance and design, delivering brand new tech and a low-key yet lux profile.

Justin’s love for his community is reflected in his commitment to helping grow skateboarding and giving back to local skateboarders. This was the inspiration behind the latest iteration of the Wayvee. The coffeebean colorway is a literal interpretation of “built from the ground up,” and speaks to early influences for Justin like vintage sports photography and basketball. Featuring ripstop and leather uppers with a black leather Sidestripe, the shoe has Justin’s namesake debossed on the heel counter as well as the black and brown animal print footbed.

The Wayvee is built with an all-new upper construction that incorporates ripstop reinforced with rubberized print and a DURACAP toe cap for prolonged life of the shoe. An interior LuxLiner provides a sock-like fit for more support and comfort. Grounded on Vans’ revolutionary Wafflecup outsole, the Wayvee gives skaters the cupsole support they need with the vulcanized boardfeel they demand—all in one shoe. The result is unbelievable flex, durability, and maximum impact cushioning.

Supporting the Wayvee is an apparel collection with nostalgic vibes designed to celebrate Justin’s style. The collection includes a vintage jacquard knit sweater, the Authentic Chino Relaxed Taper pant, long sleeve crewneck in antique white with “World Peace” printed around the collar, and Off The Wall tee in demitasse with a basketball graphic and Vans logo on the front chest pocket. Finishing touches include an acrylic cuff beanie with jacquard art in demitasse matching back to the sweater, and a full-grain embossed leather belt.

Justin Henry’s clean, sturdy style is fun to watch. He grew up skating weather-warped spots across his proud home state of Ohio — the result of which is an effortless style, whether skating impossibly perfect ledges in California or gritty stair sets in NYC. In 2018, Justin earned a part in Quasi’s full-length release Mother and was featured in Thrasher’s Am Scramble video. Most recently, he turned pro with Quasi Skateboards earlier this year. With his powerful style and commitment to giving back to the skateboarding community, Justin’s poised to do even greater things in the future.

The Wayvee by Justin Henry and apparel collection will be available on November 4, 2021, at Vans retailers and Vans.ca/Skateboarding. To learn more, visit Vans.ca/Wayvee.
