When I initially started this event 7 years ago with Scott & Wade Power, we did it for a close friend that had past name Douglas James Vickery. Some of you may know him, and some don’t, but he was a very talented skateboarder and loved hanging out at this skatepark (Iroquois Skatepark) anytime he had the chance. He taught us to always have fun and to enjoy the moments we had with each other. I feel since he passed we all do our best to skate and live everyday like it’s our last…. I miss him very much and wish he was here to enjoy the good times we have in his memory. I know he’s looking down on us right now wishing he was here.
