After close to two years in planning, Red Bull Media House is pleased to announce the full length release of Last Resort Aspotogan, a unique and truly cinematic skate film featuring Ryan Decenzo, TJ Rogers, Brezinski and more. The crew ventured to Canada’s remote East Coast to transform an abandoned resort hotel into the ultimate skate retreat with a little help from some friends.
Over 20 years ago construction crews walked away from a multi-million dollar resort project on the coast of Nova Scotia, Canada, never to return. Half completed, the building sat empty and abandoned in the rugged wilderness of the maritime coast… until now.
Ryan Decenzo, TJ Rogers and a crew of some of the best skaters in North America ventured to the coast in early September on an ambitious mission to bring new life to the forgotten resort by transforming it into the ultimate skate retreat. With no limits and a little help from their friends – legendary park builders the Zenga Brothers and director Alex Craig – the crew worked tirelessly to create a skate park unlike any other by building custom features using materials found around the resort, spanning across three floors and 175,000 square feet of smooth concrete.
From the darkest, shadowy depths of the building’s interior to blazing sunsets over the custom built concrete bowl, this was a once in a lifetime trip.
Filmed in full HD with some of the best equipment in the game including a vintage Panavision fish-eye lens, Alex Craig’s work comes with a truly cinematic vision that captures not only incredible skate footage, but the inspiring natural beauty of the surrounding wilderness and the many textures of the abandoned building through light and shadows.
